The village is situated on the Black sea
coast and is at the food of South side of the
East Stara Planina (Old Mountain). It is near
to Bourgas – 40 km, Nessebar – 8 km,
Sunny Beach – 4 km, Paradise Beach – 1,5
km, Elenite – 2 km.
St. Vlas was found as a Thracian settlement
in 2nd c. and it was called „Larissa“. In the 14th c. it was called after St. Vlas – reeder,
healer and patron of merchants.
The superb combination of Balkan with sea
converts St. Vlas in a settlement with unique
climate, which advantages the healing
effect on the whole human constitution and especially on the lung illnesses.

The beach has length of 1.5 km and average
width of 15 m. A modern yacht port is
being built on its East end, very close to
Bilyana.
Right-fully that ar ea of the Black sea coast
is called the Bulgarian Riviera.
